Institutional Services
- It is important for inmates to maintain strong links with their community. Regular visits are made by staff and volunteers to the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre and Stratford Jail to provide counselling, support and to assist offenders in their planning for services they may require upon release.
- Most requests are self-referrals. Inmates may place a request with the guard on duty to see a volunteer or worker from the John Howard Society. Referrals are accepted from any source, including family, friends, community members and an individual on their own behalf.
